Where do small groups meet?
-The majority of small groups meet in homes. This provide an opportunity for members to use their gift of hospitality to edify the church and provides an intimate comfortable place to grow in fellowship with the Lord and each other.
-Sometimes groups will meet in a restaurant or other public location for special events. A few groups will meet at Cross Pointe.
How many people are in a small group?
-There can be groups as small as five or six and as large as ten or twelve. The small group is just that, small and intimate.
How long is each individual small group meeting? How long does an entire class/series or session run?
-Each individual meeting lasts about an hour and a half, some special occasions might last longer.
-Ultimately the small groups program will be an on-going program. But you are not stuck in one class or under one teacher indefinitely. There will be a two 17 week sessions through-out each year. One from Feb-May and then one from Sept- Dec. The summer months of June-August will be left open for cook-outs and free activities. Jan. and Aug. will be sign up months.
What Kind of Small Groups are Available?
-There are many. Men's groups, women's groups, co-ed groups, chapter studies of the Bible, book reading/studying, topical studies, common interest groups such as guitar playing, etc. Pay attention to the sign ups to see what classes we are offering!
Is there a cost for small groups?
There is sometimes a cost for materials (books). On average the cost should not exced $10. Scholarships are considered case-by-case.
How do I join?
At our small groups sign ups in Jan. and Aug. Most of our groups are "open groups," so you may join at any time even if you missed the sign up period. Certain cases will require a group to become "closed."
