Notes from the webmaster: I wanted to let you in on the advantages of our Google calendar!
Here is what you can do with Google Calendar: Ministry leaders can edit and change details of events if they are incorrect or need an edit. We are using a “Public” Google calendar so anyone can search for us and anyone can view our event details.
Anyone can get notifications sent to their email or cell phone to remind them about important events. Anyone can use Google calendar to send event (email or text) invitations to friends or family.
Anyone can share this calendar with others in many easy to use tools. 1. Email invitation 2. Widget like the one on the church website – put this on your website, your blog, your myspace or facebook or your “my.Yahoo.com” or your “igoogle.com” or other homepage.
Other advantages of a Google Calendar compared to a document or a webpage are: First, dates and details on a webpage or document could be wrong and can only be changed by a Webmaster. With Google Calendar all ministry leaders can make changes and it updates automatically!
Second, a Google Calendar is much more accessible than a document or website with bad information. Thirdly, Google Calendar looks cleaner and pretty.
