servant evangelism training

What is Servant evangelism?

It is really simple, here are some for examples:

Walking down Main St (near church) or (downtown near town square) to pass out free stuff like coffee, water bottles, chewing gum, cookies, candy, or donuts to strangers.

Hanging out near a park to pass out doggie treats similarly water on bike trail or tee, balls or water on a golf course

At outdoor concerts or car shows - water or cookies

Within a community walk around with light bulbs or batteries for smoke detectors

Random Acts of kindness:

Of service in a community by doing yard work for family, picking up trash

By paying for something in advance and letting them ask you why…(Subway, Gas station, etc )

What is the point?

Doing something kind but simple for people in hopes that they will curiously ask us why we are giving them something for free, or why we are spending time doing what we are doing. And then if the Holy Spirit allows we invite them to church or share the Gospel with them.

We always though want to do these kinds of projects in love and drenched them in prayer. It is not about our "good works,"nor do we want to come across as a gimmick to get people to church but we do want to love people . We want to model Christ in our actions. People will first see the truth lived out in our lives and they will want to know more about it.

We cannot merely say "come to our new church on main street" and expect people to show up. Servant evangelsim brings church to them.

Whether you decide to be a part of these projects or not, you can pray:

Pray for opportunities to share. Pray for love for them. Pray for their hearts to be open.

How do i initiate? what do I do when I get there? I am scared....

Do not worry! This is a common reflection. Simply say:

Can I give this to you?...

We’d like you to have this….

Here we want to show God’s love for you by…

Let the Holy Spirit give you strength and words.
